Silver and Gold

Pharmacology, Health Assement, Health Assement Practicum, Transition to Professional Nursing Roles for Masters of Nursing Students, Fundamentals of Nursing, Lab for Masters of Nursing Students, Nursing Arts and Science, Nursing Research Methods...

oh, what a summer I have to look forward to?!

The weeks are flying by and I pretend that I am keeping up.  Though the thermometer says its winter, it is indeed spring and that means SPRING CLEANING!  I have reached the point where I want to swing wide patio doors and open stuffy and stuck windows to the fresh warm air and birds' songs.  Oh, wait, the air may be fresh and birds are in fact singing, but goodness, I need warmth!  I see why so many people in Maine go to Florida around this time of the year.

The night before last, I tossed and turned all night long; my mind raced with dreams of iced pumpkin juice, baby dragons, and magical trains.  My wonderful in-laws gave me the Harry Potter series for Christmas this year and I typically read at night before bed.  I may have to change this routine as the series is becoming more and more intense and 'the plot thickens'...Last night I finished the third book.  After every book, my friend Wit lets me dognap her 150lb Newfoundland (named Quidditch) and watch her Harry Potter movies.  I like this tradition.

The older I grow, the more clear my 'traditional' side becomes.  I enjoy crumpets with my tea and the newspaper with my coffee.  I enjoy hearing peoples' stories and looking at old photos of my seasoned family.  My husband gave me a collection of Hebrew writings a few months back.  I've been 'reconnecting' to my Jewish heritage and reflecting on the history of God's people; my soul is grounded.

Our God is timeless and we, His people are too.

Yesterday, I spoke to my dear brother Devaraj in Nepal.  He asked when Phillip and I would be able to visit.  The truth is, as soon as I met Phillip (five years ago!) I wanted to take him to Nepal.  I wanted him to live where I've lived in the past, eat what I ate, sing songs of praise that I sing to this day in Nepali.  Above all, I have wanted him to meet our family there whose lives worship the Lord both in deed and in word.

Aligning our schedules in the coming three years in a way that will allow for a visit will be difficult.  not impossible.  Please pray with us that our Lord will go out before us and prepare the way.
