When I first arrived, it was hours a day job searching, applying, cover letters and resumes with no real luck per se. With prayer and encouragement from The Body around me, I began more and more to trust in the Lord to provide. He steered me in the direction of returning to school--just twenty-five minutes away at the University of Southern Maine (Portland) a unique program is offered, Masters of Nursing for non-nurses (MSN). At the end of just three years, not only will I have my Masters of Nursing, but also my Family Nurse Practitioner licenser.
Right now, I'm working hard studying for my entrance exam and filling out the appropriate applications. All of my paperwork is due by November 1, 2010, and I should know if I get into the program by this Christmas! Please remember me as you pray - the program is very competitive and the school tends to give preference to long-term New Englanders. If I do not get in this year, I will reapply the following year as I feel this is the pathway the Lord has for Phillip and I.
My empty ceramic starbucks mug indicates my brain is charged and ready for another hour of study before Phillip picks me up and we go home for our skype date with some friends of ours in Black Mountain NC! In cotton from my neck to my knees, my body gives way to complete surrender to my mind-no physical distractions here!
au revoir (in the spirit of our new french canadian home!)
I'm praying!! It's pretty amazing what can happen when you finally give things completely to the Lord and stop trying to control them yourself--the past week for me is a living testament to that. cheers.
ReplyDeletecongrats. there is a real peace in unknown answers, but there is a lot to say for known answers too. sounds like an amazing program! now what are you studying if you're not in school?? i guess being OUT of school for 3 years with 2 babies - studying just sounds a bit foreign. i should probably pick it up again. lol. i will be thinking of you two.
